Sometimes we just happen to have a week with one pleasure after another. I just had one.
I met two men in two days who were real gentlemen with a great spiritual presence about them. They both had a great sense of humor and put kindness in their work. It was a pleasure to work with them and also do business with them.
One new friend and I have kindred spirits about our kids bossing us around. I gave him tips, but they will be useless, of course.
Each person we meet contributes to our life experience. Each offers insight and knowledge about the world around us.
Of course, we experience some miserable or even scary circumstances, but they can teach us something as well. I have learned the lesson doesn’t come right away. It can be years; then I realize there is the lesson I am to understand, or the answer to a question from long ago.
Some of us talk about people we have met and wonder what the encounter had meant at all. Then later, the message can be the answer we were looking for all along.
A lovely woman came from California to give a seminar at our mental health clinic here and stayed with us. I had just lost my brother of 63 years, and I had had a very serious operation and later diagnosed with a deteriorated hip that needed to be replaced.
I was beginning to wonder, “WHAT NOW?”
She gave me an image and taught me how to go to that image when I felt overwhelmed. I have used it for years.
Those good messengers give us the tools to live and move on with joy and courage. This is mentioned in the Bible for those of you familiar with it.
Thank you for letting me share this, and remember that your kindnesses radiate from you like a messenger of hope and love.
