Deidra Whightsil of Spring Valley and Dakota Padilla of Lake Holiday are announcing their engagement and approaching marriage. She is the daughter of Greg Whightsil of Washington, Ill., and Kelli Whightsil of Spring Valley. He is the son of Mike and Julie Padilla of Lake Holiday.
The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of Hall High School in Spring Valley and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology, with a minor in leadership, in 2018 from Eureka College. She is the administrator for the engineering and design build team at Morton Buildings in Morton.
Her fiancé is a 2013 graduate of Sandwich High School and received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 2017 from Eureka College. He is an account manager at Aerotek in Bloomington.
The couple will be married Nov. 23 at Marlene’s Barn Events in Metamora.
