DAR meeting
PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 9:30 a.m. April 14 at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Sharon Bittner will present the program, “Providence Colony.” Members are asked to bring their chapter bylaw booklets.
Western SHARE
SHEFFIELD — The last day to sign up for Western SHARE is between 9 and 10 a.m. Friday at the Concord Township Building in Sheffield or by calling Mary Carper at (309) 895-2061, Ruth Hull at (815) 454-2462 or Ann Sprowls at (815) 454-2001.
Dinner-dance
PRINCETON — American Legion Post 125 in Princeton will host a dinner/dance April 21 at the Legion hall, 1549 W. Peru St. Dinner will be at 6 p.m., with dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Live music will be provided by The Generics. Dress is casual. Tickets for the dance only are $6. Tickets for the dinner and dance, which must be purchased in advance, are $14 per person. Flea market
PRINCETON — A flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton.
Community coffee
SHEFFIELD — The First United Church of Christ will host its monthly community coffee from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the UCC Parish Hall. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls will be served.
Red Hats luncheon
PRINCETON — The Princeton Red Hats will hold a luncheon at 11 a.m. April 14 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. This event is titled “Ride-um-Red Hats” and will have a western theme. All ladies 50 or better are invited to attend. You must wear a red hat and purple outfit. Those attending are asked to try to dress western style, with a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and western shirt. Everyone is also asked to bring an aluminum pie plate to eat off of. For reservations, call Felicia at (815) 875-2258.
