Woodcrafters meeting

PRINCETON — The Woodcrafters Unlimited Association will meet Thursday at the Bureau County Senior Center, 16 W. Marion St., Princeton. Show and tell will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the regular meeting starting at 7 p.m. Members are reminded raffle tickets for the Bureau County Senior Center craft items must be turned in at the May meeting. The drawing will be May 18. All meetings are open to the public.

Jewelry fair

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a $5 Jewelry Fair on Friday in the north lobby of the hospital. Designer jewelry for men, women, juniors and children will be available. DAR meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 9:30 a.m. today, Saturday, at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Sharon Bittner will present the program, “Providence Colony.” Members are asked to bring their chapter bylaw booklets.

Historical meeting

TAMPICO — The Tampico Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. April 24 at the museum. Roy Haney will present information on the history of the Tampico United Methodist Church. Tea party

PRINCETON — The Bureau County chapter of the American Red Cross and the Princeton Red Hats will host its annual Victorian Tea Party May 5 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. This event is for area ladies and girls of all ages.

Foundation fundraiser

MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley School Foundation will hold a dinner, drawdown and silent auction Friday at Arnie’s Happy Spot in Deer Grove. The drawdown will start a 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 per couple. The silent auction will include original art; funky artist chairs, created by Bureau Valley North art students, made from antique and old school chairs; and much more. Manlius parade

MANLIUS — The Manlius Fun Day parade has been set for Aug. 11. The parade lineup will be in the front parking lot of Bureau Valley High School from 11:30 a.m. until the parade starts at 1 p.m. All farm equipment will line up at the Bureau Valley Administration Center parking lot, just east of the high school, on the north side of the road, also beginning at 11:30 a.m. For more information about the parade only, call Vicki Sanden at (815) 866-3560 and leave a message.

Art scholarship

PRINCETON — Princeton’s Prairie Arts Center will award its annual $1,000 Art Scholarship this spring. All art students who reside in Bureau County and who will attend college as an art major in the fall of 2007 are invited to apply. The award will be determined through a portfolio competition.
