John HallNEW BEDFORD — John J. Hall, 63, of 105 Bradley St., New Bedford, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born Dec. 16, 1943, in Sterling to Jay and Ruth (Meek) Hall, he married Beverly Ann Jackson on Aug. 15, 1969, in Walnut. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War. He worked for 30 years as a welder at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. in Sterling, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Walnut American Legion Post 179 and the United Steel Mill Workers Union. Also surviving are children, Rodney Sugars of Annawan, Tim Sugars of California, Laurie (Pat) Wood of Wyanet, Vickie Sugars of Walnut, Amy (Michael) Olson of Granville, Jayme (Ryan) Kepner of Walnut; grandchildren, Katie and Kelsey Wood, Brett and Jay Kepner, Luke and Chad Olson, Anna Sugars, and Matthew Cargill; one brother, Jet (Linda) Hall of Walnut; one sister Frances Honea of Arizona and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Nita Fuhr, and one great nephew, T.J. Hall. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Burial was in Greenville Fairfield Cemetery in New Bedford. A memorial has been established in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. |
