Randall RiceWICHITA, Kan. — Randall Maurice Rice, 94, of 1030 S. Christine, Wichita, Kan., died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in Wichita, Kan. Born March 6, 1913, in Archbold, Ohio, to Alfred and Violet Rice, he married Mildred Weikal March 27, 1938, in Dodge City, Kan. She survives. He graduated from the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bible Institute in 1935. In his 43-year ministry, he pastored seven churches in Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio, Illinois and Colorado, including the Bureau Township Community Church in Princeton from 1948 to 1964. He retired in 1978 from Calvary Missionary Church in Wichita, Kan. After his retirement, he trained with H&R Block and spent 25 years as a part-time tax preparer. He faithfully attended the First Evangelical Free Church in Wichita, Kan., for nearly 30 years. Also surviving are four children, Patricia (Ron) Lorenzen of Princeton, Phillis (Dwight) Sholl of Sturgis, Mich., Phillip (Ruth) Rice of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lois (David) Steward of Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Carma Sutton of Morenci, Mich.; one brother, Verlin Rice of Liberty Center, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Grover; and four sisters, Margaret, Leona, Velma and Elinor. Services were held June 2 in the First Evangelical Free Church in Wichita, Kan. Visitation was held June 1 in the Hillside Funeral Home East.
