51st Wyanet Summer Festival is July 12-15

WYANET — Four Bureau Valley High School students are competing for the title of Wyanet Summer Festival queen. The 2007 queen will be crowned Friday night in Wyanet Memorial Park.

Queen candidates are:

Dannette Henning, 16, daughter of Gerry and Janet Henning of Wyanet.

A BVHS honor roll student, she played volleyball and was a member of the Spanish and Home Economics clubs. She is a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Princeton where she is active in the high school youth group and is one of the puppeteers. She likes to hang out with her friends, scrapbooking and listening to music when she’s not working at Anna Maria’s Pizza or baby-sitting. Her future plans are to train as a dental hygienist at IVCC then transfer to a four-year college.

Brianna Olson, 16, is the daughter of Dianna Olson of Sheffield. She will be a junior at BVHS.

She enjoys spending time with her family and friends when she has time. She works at Burger King. After graduation from high school she plans to go to college, but hasn’t decided on a major.

Brooke Reinbeck, 15, is the daughter of Pat and Deb Reinbeck of Buda. Her school activities include drama club, show choir and softball. She likes to hang out with friends or read a good book. She also baby-sits and has detasseled corn. She plans to go to a community college after high school and transfer to a four-year university.

Tiffany Roberts, 17, is the daughter of Mike and Tina Roberts of Buda. At BVHS she has been involved in cross country and track. She likes to work with her sister and grandmother, to swim, run and to make anyone laugh. She has worked at Subway for one and half years and Colonial Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation for one year. Her plans after high school are to attend a community college for two years and then transfer to an art school to pursue a career in the artistic field.

The contestants will be judged on beauty, personality, poise and evening gown competition. Personal interviews with the judges will take place during

Friday afternoon. The evening gown competition will be on stage in  Memorial Park following the Little Miss Pageant that evening.
