Easter Seals sponsors program for underinsured childrenOTTAWA — Easter Seals of LaSalle and Bureau Counties, in partnership with other area organizations, is sponsoring an event on Tuesday and Thursday to help enroll uninsured children in Illinois’ low-cost insurance program called All Kids. The event will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Nelson Chapel of the Covenant Children’s Home and Family Services, 502 Elm Place in Princeton. During part one of the event, parents of children who may be eligible for Illinois’ low-cost health insurance will be provided with information about the program, counseled about their child’s eligibility, and given the forms they must complete in order to enroll their child in All Kids, which is part of a program supported by the federal State Children’s Health Insurance Program. Parents will be invited to return to part two of the event, where Easter Seals staff will be on hand to review the materials and give parents some help in completing the applications and provide postage-paid envelopes in which to mail their applications to the state. Easter Seals SCHIP enrollment events are part of a nation-wide effort to increase enrollment of children in the SCHIP program. The Easter Seals events are being supported throughout a grant from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. |
