Dalzell Schools
DALZELL — Registration for Dalzell Grade School will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 7, in the school.
This day is designated to pay textbook fees and all required physical forms (kindergarten and fifth grade) and dental forms (kindergarten, second and sixth grades) are to be turned in.
All students entering fifth grade are required to have had three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine before the beginning of the school year. All students entering kindergarten are required to have one dose of the varicella vaccine. A copy of a lead screening risk assessment is also required for kindergarten students. Students in fifth through eighth grades are eligible to participate in the sports programs and must have physicals by the first practice.
Anyone new to the district who has not yet registered, or notified the school of their child attending, should call or come to the office as soon as possible.
Student emergency forms and supply lists for anyone not receiving one at the end of the school year will be handed out on this day. It is each parent’s responsibility to register his/her own child. Checks should be made payable to Dalzell Grade School. Fees for 2007-08 will be as follows: Kindergarten textbook fees, $35; grades 1- 8 textbook fees, $50; kindergarten and students new to the district — individual student headphone, $4; PTO dues of $6 may be paid at time of registration, and one check may be written for all fees.
Children will be admitted to kindergarten if they’re 5 years old on or by Sept. 1. Any child who has not previously attended school in the district must present a certified copy of their birth certificate obtained from the county in which the child was born.
A teacher’s institute will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21.
Bus transportation will be provided for rural pupils. Parents will be given a bus schedule at registration. School will be dismissed at 2 p.m. Aug. 22 through Aug. 24. The first full day of school will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27. Kindergarten dismissal will be at 12:30 p.m. daily.
