SPRING VALLEY — Hall High School students enrolled in the HALLways to Learning After School Program enjoyed a visit to the Spring Valley Nursing Center.

The students are reading the book “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom and took the opportunity to interview and meet with some of the older generation and ask them questions about their memories and philosophies on life.

HALLways to Learning is a five-year 21st Century Community Learning Center federal grant in the amount of $250,000. This is a grant shared by Hall High School and Kewanee High School. The grant was awarded to the Bureau, Henry, Stark Regional Office of Education to assist students in meeting state assessment goals. This grant provides students and their families with another layer of support to be successful in school. 21st Century Community Learning Centers provide enrichment opportunities to students in areas where extra help is needed.
