Elizabeth Cubbage

WALNUT — Elizabeth A. Cubbage, 74, of 423 Whitver St., Walnut, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at her home.

Born Sept. 11, 1933, in Chicago to Johannes and Gertrude (Trapp) Mosa, she married Robert Louis Cubbage Sept. 15, 1941, in Benton Harbour, Mich. He preceded her in death.

She was a volunteer for years with Animal Aid Special Project. She also was an arthritis aquatic instructor with YMCA for 13 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Marie Salam of Stevensville, Mich., and Michele (Dan) McAlvey of Walnut; four grandchildren, Heather McAlvey of Walnut, Corey McAlvey of South Bend, Ind., Michael (Jennifer) McAlvey of Sterling and Caitlin McAlvey of Walnut; and one great-grandson, Brendan McAlvey of Walnut.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet, Mich. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens in Benton Harbour, Mich.

Visitation was held Monday in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut.

Memorials may be directed to the Walnut Fire Department and Bureau Valley Hospice.
