Morman Sr., 95, of Sheffield died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut. Born Nov. 5, 1912, in Sheffield to Edward and Stephonia (DeBarre) Morman, he married Alice Christian Sept. 30, 1937, in Sheffield. She died May 25, 2001. He graduated from Mineral High School and was a farmer all of his life in the Mineral-Sheffield area until retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheffield. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn Wright of Nashville, Tenn., and Susan (Leroy) Tappe of Roseville; two sons, Raymond Jr. (Alice) of Sheffield and Gene (Yvonne) of Princeton; one sister, Mildred Loncka of Annawan; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one son-in-law and one grandson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sheffield, with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Sheffield. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services in Sheffield. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sheffield Rescue Unit or Walnut Manor. |
