Thomas MorrisPORT ORANGE, Fla. — Thomas Samuel “Sam” Morris, 27, of Port Orange, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at the Hospice of Volusia - Flagler in Port Orange, Fla., after a battle against brain cancer. Born July 18, 1980, in Princeton to Joseph and Catherine (Rinehart) Morris, he married Lindsey Young Nov. 1, 2005, in the Halifax Medical Center Chapel in Daytona Beach, Fla. She survives. He had been a resident of Port Orange, Fla., for the past eight years. He was a former resident of Bloomington. He received his training and education from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and was employed there as an aircraft mechanic and inspector. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Also surviving are one daughter, Maurianna Alice Morris of Port Orange, Fla.; his father, Joseph (Suzanne) Morris of Buda; his mother, Catherine Rinehart of Bloomington; one brother, Tim Morris of Sheffield; one sister, Maddie Morris of Buda; his maternal grandparents, Don and Mary Rinehart of Wyanet; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Young of Muscatine; and two brothers-in-law, Barry Young of Muscatine and Zachary Young of Eldon, Mo. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gus; and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Elsie Morris. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine, Iowa, with the Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Lindsey Morris. |
