Community CalendarCommunity coffee SHEFFIELD — The First United Church of Christ in Sheffield will host its monthly community coffee from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the UCC Parish Hall. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls will be served. Book club meeting PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will hold its next meeting at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “My Sister’s Keeper by” Jodi Picoult. Anyone is invited to join the group in discussing this book. This event is sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library. Fundraiser planned SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Homecoming Association will hold a Trivia Night fundraiser to help cover costs of the annual festival. The event will be held at the Sheffield Community Center and the date will be announced in the near future. Trivia questions will include many different topics and every round will feature a unique question that pertains to the Sheffield Homecoming. A maximum of 10 participants will be allowed for each team, with an entry fee of $100 per table. Tables may be purchased by individual teams or team sponsors. Cash prizes will be given out for first, second and third place. There will be a 50-50 drawing and a raffle. DAR meeting PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Prouty Building in Princeton. The program, titled “The Iditarold,” will be presented by Lori Windows and sled dogs, Buser and Redington. Hostesses for the day are Lois Peterson, chairman; Virginia Diller, Barbara Heuer and Marcia Hudson. Trivia Night SENICA — Waltham Elementary will hold a “Trivia Night” on March 7 at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course Banquet Hall on Route 6 near Utica. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a minimum of six per table, with a maximum of 10. The cost is $10 per person. To reserve a table, call (815) 667-7049. Cancer meeting PERU — Cancer patients, survivors and caregivers are invited to meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 21, and every Thursday after, in the special procedures conference room at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. For more information, call Elaine or George at (815) 894-9309. Reunion planned CHANDLER, Ariz. — The 35th annual Bureau County, Illinois, reunion will be Feb. 28 at Hometown Buffet, 700 W. Warner Road, Chandler, Ariz. An all-you-can-eat buffet will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Library will re-open DIXON — The Lee County Genealogical Society Library, located at 213 S. Peoria Ave., Dixon, will re-open on Tuesday. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The gene-alogical society will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Loveland Community Building, 513 W. Second St., Dixon. The program will feature “show and tell.” Participants are encouraged to articles of interest in their genealogical searches to share. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge. The Society is currently soliciting input for their “wedding book” which will feature wedding pictures and stories prior to 1931. Entry deadline is March 1.
