BV pre-K registration

WYANET-WALNUT — Bureau Valley Community Unit School district has set Feb. 11-14 for Kindergarten Round-up in the Bureau  Valley Elementary buildings  in Walnut and Wyanet. Parents may pre-register   their child in the attendance center their child will attend from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on those dates. Children who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1 will be eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall.

Parents will be required to present proof of age (a certified copy of a birth certificate) at the time of registration. A certified copy of a birth certificate may be acquired at the courthouse in the county in which the child was born.

Parents will also be asked to complete an information sheet. No fees will be collected until registration, in August. A packet will be issued to parents containing a parent letter with a health exam form and lead screening verification, and a booklet which includes a readiness checklist.

Parents who are unable to pre-register their child during the scheduled times are asked to call the office to inform the school of their intent to send a child to kindergarten. For more information, call BV-North at Walnut at (815) 379-2900 or BV-Wyanet Elementary at (815) 699-2251.
