
Community NotesRed Hat Mardi Gras PRINCETON — The Red Hat Society will have a “Mardi Gras” Cajun luncheon starting at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Prouty Building. Lunch will be $5 per person and will include masks and beads. Valentine’s party TISKILWA — A community senior citizens Valentine’s party will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Tiskilwa Methodist Church. Those attending are invited to bring a friend. Class planned PRINCETON — Bureau County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency will hold a weather spotter training class at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at New Hope Church of the Nazarene, 30 N. Sixth St. The instructor for the class will be Donna Dubberke from the Quad Cities National Weather Service. All area weather spotters, emergency personnel and interested citizens are invited to attend. Meeting set PRINCETON — Professional Home Economists of Bureau County will meet at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the home of Nancy Stetson, 4574 U.S. Highway 34, Neponset. Those who wish to carpool should meet at 1 p.m. on the south side of Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton. Debra Bartman will speak on retirement housing options: “Where do you want to live when you grow up?” Those attending will learn about housing choices and what to look for when thinking about living arrangements for senior years.
