Uranich case is continuedBy Donna Barkerdbarker@bcrnews.comPRINCETON — The court hearing to revoke Eric Uranich’s probation was continued Tuesday morning in Bureau County Courthouse. Uranich, 18, of LaSalle pleaded guilty in August to criminal damage to property to the Berean Cemetery, located on 1800 North Avenue, east of Malden. Uranich pleaded guilty to knocking over, breaking or splintering 57 headstones in the cemetery in June 2006. As a result of his guilty plea, Uranich was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay $6,530 in restitution and another $500 in court costs. Uranich was also ordered to complete 200 service hours of mowing and trimming work at the Berean Cemetery, with the time divided between 2007 and 2008. He was to report to Dale McKee, caretaker of the cemetery. In October, Bureau County State’s Attorney Patrick Herrmann filed the motion to revoke Uranich’s probation, based on alleged problems with Uranich’s court-ordered public service hours. Uranich is represented by attorney George Leynaud of LaSalle, who was not present for Tuesday’s hearing. No new court hearing date. Comment on this story at www.bcrnews.com. |
