Princeton High School names top academic seniors for 2007-08

Princeton High School has released the names of its top students for the Class of 2008. PRINCETON — Superintendent Kirk Haring has announced the top academic seniors at Princeton High School for the 2007-08 school year.

Annalise Eckberg and Laura Krabill have been named valedictorians. Kirsten Andersen is the salutatorian.

The remaining top students are Matthew Holland, Kelly Johnson, Janey Joiner, Aaron Kaufmann, Adrienne Kunkel, Hunter Mickow, Ken Saunders and Cayla Savage.

Eckberg is the daughter of Timothy and Debra Eckberg. During high school, she was in concert choir, marching band, National Honor Society, tennis, theater and Big Brother/Big Sister. Her awards included Elks Teen of the Month nominee, Perfect Attendance award, IHSA All-Academic Team nominee, Illinois State Scholar and News Tribune All-Academic Team. Her plans are to attend Purdue University to start the six-year pharmacy program.

Krabill is the daughter of Elvin and Connie Krabill. Her high school activities include tennis, Student Council, National Honor Society, concert choir and ensembles and soccer. She is vice president of her senior class. Awards include being named an Illinois State Scholar, the girls’ Tennis Player of the Year by both the Bureau County Republican and the News Tribune, the Most Valuable Player for her tennis team and to the All-Conference All-Academic teams for both girls’ tennis and soccer. She is also a recipient of the Keith Schultz Award. Her plans are to attend Goshen College to study violin performance and pre-dentistry. She will also play tennis for Goshen.

Andersen is the daughter of Curt Andersen and Mary Kramer. During high school, she participated in volleyball, soccer, choir and choral ensembles, band and band ensembles, Food Group, Thespians and spring musicals. Her awards include being named an Illinois State Scholar, to the IMEA All-State Honors Choir in 2008 and to the Volleyball First Team All Conference in 2007. She plans to attend Illinois Wesleyan University to study theater and music.

Holland is the son of Tyrone and Lynn Holland. During high school, he has been involved in track, basketball, football, cross country and the National Honor Society. His honors include the Elks Teen of the Month, Illinois State Scholar, Keith Schultz Award, All-Academic in football, track and cross country teams, and All-State Academic Team nominee. He plans to attend DePaul University.
