New ... Missing LaMoille man found dead

By Donna Barkerdbarker@bcrnews.com

LAMOILLE — A LaMoille man was found dead about 1 p.m. Thursday on the south edge of town by a volunteer search team.

Terry Drummer, 56, had not been seen since Sunday, when he was seen sitting at a picnic table in his yard. Drummer lived in LaMoille with his aging mother.

LaMoille Chief of Police Terry Cromwell began the search for the missing man on Wednesday morning and then contacted the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday afternoon for assistance. At least 60 volunteers assisted Wednesday and Thursday in the search.

Among the emergency agencies assisting LaMoille Police Chief Terry Cromwell and the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department with the search were the fire and/or ambulance departments from Ohio, Walnut, LaMoille, Mendota and Sublette, as well as the Bureau County Mounted Search and Rescue team.

Bureau County Sheriff John Thompson credited Cromwell with his leadership and perseverance in the search, as well as that of Lt. Brett Taylor of the sheriff’s department.

Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff pronounced the man dead at the scene. The body was transported to Perry Memorial Hospital, Thompson said.
