John Cronau

KEWANEE — John R. Cronau, 49, of Kewanee died at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his home.

He was born June 30, 1958, in Kewanee to Willis J. and Marjorie T. (Turnbull) Cronau.

He graduated from Kewanee High School in 1976 and from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He also furthered his education and achieved enough credits to obtain the equivalent to a master’s degree. He had been employed as an architect in Peoria and Chicago. After returning to Kewanee, he worked for Jensen Construction and later as a carpenter.

Survivors include one brother, Steve (Debbie) Cronau of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Debbie Kirley of Princeton; two nieces, Beth Cronau of Raleigh, N.C., and Becky (Dennis) Clementz of Geneseo; and one nephew, John H. Cronau of Raleigh, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been accorded. There will be no services. Private burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

The Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
