Marggie Fritz

PRINCETON — Marggie Lou (Fundell) Fritz, 82, of Princeton died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at her home of cancer.

Marggie was born a twin on May 6, 1926, in Bureau County to Raymond Rufus and Margaret Anna Nettie (Yepsen) Fundell. She married Bobie Franklyn Fritz Feb. 25, 1944, in Lacon.

Marggie’s life work was raising a family, caring for her home and managing a business alongside Bob.

She has eight children, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. As a young woman she married Bob and spent her lifetime loving him. If you asked what was most important to her she would tell you her family. Family gatherings were a big deal at the Fritz house — every holiday was a special occasion, and a great reason for getting together. Marggie would wake up at the crack of dawn to make the most delicious homemade pies and begin preparing a large meal for her family that would trickle in throughout the day.

Marggie loved the outdoors and was known for her great love of animals. She spent hours grooming her yard and making sure her birds were well fed and watered. Smiles were made as the wild turkey and deer would cross through her yard. The pets at her house are always one of the family.

She worked hard, side by side with Bob on their farm and as their real-estate business grew over the years. Marggie was the right hand and was never afraid to dig in with the heavy work. She took her landowner role seriously and was always a phone call away. Marggie also managed to take care of the bookkeeping too.

Marggie was an inspiration for loving, giving and unselfishness.

Marggie is survived by her husband, Bobie Franklyn Fritz Sr.; six daughters, Ginger Sue (Bob) Kitterman of Hudson, Fla., Judy Marie (Art) Bland of Princeton, and Lezlie Ann (Tom) Fisher, Lisa Ann (Edward) Young, Lori Fritz and Letty White, all of Princeton; one son, Bobie Franklyn (Sarah) Fritz Jr. of Princeton; one sister, Dorothy (Hap) Lucas of Princeton; 17 grandchildren, Margo (Bland) Cartwright, Michelle (Bland) Mosier, Robert Kitterman, Todd Kitterman, Cory Kitterman, Bridget Albright, Tina (Albright) Klingenberg, Amanda Fisher, Kyle Fisher, Sydney Young, Morgan Young, Eliza Young, Alyssa White, Maya White, Haley Fritz, Levi Fritz and Ian Fritz; and 12 great-grandchildren, Jacklynn Cartwright, Emma Mosier, Nathan Mosier, Robert Kitterman, Kurtis Kitterman, Marissa Mencos, Giovanni Gualandi, Bianca Gualandi, Kamilla Klingenberg, Zeke Klingenberg, Carrington Musil and Addysan Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dixie Lee (Doug) Albright; three sisters, Madgie Fundell, Delight (Harold) Manning and Joyce (George) Starr; one son-in-law, Bob (Ginger) Kitterman; two grandchildren, Monica Lynn Bland and Tylor Ryan Fritz Fisher; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Scott Kitterman.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton, with Pastor Chuck Wahlstrom officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton.
