Princeton Park BoardPRINCETON — The Princeton Park Board conducted the following business at its June 17 meeting at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton: • Heard from resident Joan May on her requests for an upgrade of the Alexander Park swimming pool, including slides and diving boards. May gave the board examples of other communities, like Kewanee and Geneseo, which have better equipped pools than Princeton, she said. Board member Gene Englehart said the board listened to her concerns and would take her recommendations into consideration. • Heard an update from Kevin Heitz, engineer with Chamlin & Associates, on the progress of the Zearing Park expansion project. Heitz called the current stage of the project an “information gathering” time, which includes extensive survey work. Once the surveys are completed, Heitz will prepare a three-dimensional rendering of the project. The rendering, which will give the board a better concept of the grading of the land, will hopefully be available for the July 7 board meeting. The board will also review the concession stand design at its July 7 meeting to make sure it still fits the park needs and goals. • Went into closed session to discuss real estate and personnel. No action was taken after the closed session. |
