PRINCETON — Key Builders Construction Inc. of Princeton has received a national safety award from Associated Builders and Contractors.

Key Builders’ exceptional safety record has earned the company recognition in ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Awards Program at the Platinum Level.

“ABCIL congratulates Key Builders Construction for its success in maintaining construction workplace safety,” said Rob Winchester, president and CEO for the ABC Illinois Chapter. “Creating a safe workplace is an ongoing process that requires commitment and dedication. It is a pleasure for our association to honor this company’s high achievement with ABC National’s prestigious S.T.E.P. award.”

The selection criteria for the S.T.E.P. program included each member company’s self-evaluation scores based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety performance data. Among numerous other topics, such data includes workday loss cases, recordable cases, drug screening processes and yearly number of OSHA inspections and citations.
