Born Jan. 5, 1951 in Spring Valley to Elmer and Phyllis Johnson, she married Franklyn D. Foley in 1978. He survives. She grew up in Princeton and attended Illinois State University, earning a B.A. in elementary education in 1973. She taught for several years and moved to San Francisco in 1975. Also surviving are three daughters, Dr. Elizabeth (Jonathan) Foley Yao, Katherine Foley, and Caroline Foley; one son, Patrick Foley; her mother, Phyllis Ann Johnson; three brothers, Michael (Mary) Johnson, Steve (Joy) Johnson, and Paul (Denise) Johnson; two sisters, Deb (Scott) Bowen and Ellen Johnson; and her in-laws, Pat Aulmann, George and Patricia Vick, and Martin Foley. She was preceded in death by her father. A vigil service was conducted July 17 at the Crippen and Flynn Woodside Chapel in Redwood City, Calif. A funeral Mass was conducted July 18 at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Carlos, Calif. Burial was at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, Calif.
