Hall registration

SPRING VALLEY — Hall High School will conduct registration for the 2008-09 school year according to the following schedule.

From 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, there will be registration of students in grades 9-12 who are transferring into the district and incoming freshmen.

Seniors, juniors and sophomores will register from 12:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

There will be a $100 registration fee payable at registration. Checks should be made out to Hall High School. Registration information was previously mailed to the students household and must be completed in its entirety.

There will be a $50 driver’s education fee and also an additional fee of $20 to be made payable to the Secretary of State.

There is an athletic user fee of $50 per athlete per sport with a limit of two season fees per student. The most a single athlete would pay is $100. There is also a family limit of $200 regardless of how many seasons or how many children participate.

A fee of $5 will be for a physical education lock. If a student has a lock from a previous school year, a new lock will not need to be purchased. Bring the lock to registration so the number can be recorded.

For any student that may bring a vehicle to school at any time throughout the year, there is a $1 car registration fee. Bring the form with you to registration.

The student must bring a completed health form with the immunization dates completed and signed by a physician. A physical exam with up-to-date required immunizations is required for any student entering ninth grade. A student will not be allowed to register without the ninth-grade physical exam and current immunization records. A sports physical is not acceptable for the incoming freshman physical, but the ninth-grade physical is acceptable for the sports physical.

A certified copy of the student’s birth certificate from the county in which the student was born is required. A hospital birth certificate is not acceptable.

An affidavit of residency must be completed in its entirety. The form is included for freshman students only. New and transfer students must complete the form at registration. The form must be signed in the presence of a notary public.

Registration will be held inside the school building. Students will be directed through the registration stages. Students must register during their scheduled time on the appropriate day.

A Hall High School physical education uniform and lock are required. All students enrolled in physical education must have their own uniform and lock. The uniform must meet the following criteria — Hall gray physical education shirt with sleeves and red shorts. Students will not be allowed to share uniforms. The uniform must be purchased separately from the fees and can be obtained from local  merchants.

Students qualifying for free and/or reduced lunch receive a waiver for these fees and are exempt from payment. All waiver forms must be completed and submitted to the district office.

There is not a current list of specific school supplies needed prior to the start of school. If a particular curricula area needs supplies, (art, foods, etc.), then those supplies and/or fees will be addressed and assessed the first week of school by the individual instructor.

It the student requires bus transportation, contact First Student at (815) 223-0875.
