Viola LaneGULF SHORES, Ala. — Viola M. Lane, 93, of Gulf Shores, Ala., formerly of Illinois, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at Robertsdale Healthcare Center. Born on Feb. 10, 1915, in Wenona, Ill., to Joseph and Lillie Marconnet, she was the second of nine children. She graduated from Wenona High School and married Lyle Lane in 1936, who preceded her in death. She retired from Champion Pneumatic Machinery in Princeton as a bookkeeper working in accounting. She was a member of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord, her church and its members. She was a loving and supporting wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include one son, Leon Lane and his wife, Libby Britton of Cullman, Ala.; two grandchildren, Debbie (Mark) Calvert of Atlanta, Ga., and David (Karen) Lane of Cullman, Ala.; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Edward Marconnet of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Robert Marconnet of Longmont, Colo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church, Gulf Shores, Ala. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 19 at Lacon Cemetery, Lacon, Ill. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Gulf Shores United Methodist Church building fund or Community Hospice in Foley, Ala. Norberg Memorial home is entrusted with the arrangements. |
