Born June 22, 1920, to John and Katie Burger of Jefferson County, Iowa, she married Charles T. Wiggins Dec. 28, 1939. He died Dec. 26, 1980. She was a teacher in Jefferson County, Iowa, before moving to Princeton in 1940. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at the former House and Garden Shop and The Shop on Main. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Princeton, South Bend Social Club, Ladies of the Elks (BPOE) Auxiliary. Survivors include three children, Connie (Greg) Henry of Rogers, Ark., William C. (Barbara) Wiggins of Princeton, and Thomas L. (Jane) Wiggins of Monticello; one sister, Vera Luedtke of Fairfield, Iowa; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great -grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and two sisters, Louise Schillerstrom and Edith Gilbert. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton, the Rev. Bea Hoover-Mulvany officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or donor’s choice. |
