WIU graduates

MACOMB — Several students from Bureau County were among the more than 550 students earning degrees after the 2008 summer semester at Western Illinois University. Graduating students include:

Princeton - Joel Drozda with a Bachelor of Science in law enforcement and justice administration; Andrew Dye, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in botany and Tina Klein with a Master of Science in education, reading.

Sheffield - Justin Boelens with a Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering technology.

Spring Valley - Jeffrey Baker with a Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering technology and Joshua Pellegrini with a Bachelor of Science in law enforcement and justice administration.

Academic distinction was awarded to undergraduate students who achieved high grade point averages. This includes: summa cum laude, 3.90 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale; magna cum laude, 3.75 to 3.89 GPA; and cum laude, 3.6 to 3.74 GPA.

Master's degrees were awarded more than 135 students.
