TISKILWA — An area benefit is planned to help with medical expenses for a Tiskilwa boy.

Brandon Foster, 14, of Tiskilwa spent 11 days in June as a patient in the St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria following a bicycle accident east of Tiskilwa.

Family and friends have planned the benefit and raffle for 1 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6 at the El Amigo Grill, located at 1043 Eighth St. in LaSalle.

Michelle Leverich, Brandon’s mother, said the benefit will include entertainment by the local bands White Trash Mafia and Green Jean, as well as a visit from Mr. Cinnamon the Clown and members of the Wicked Wrestling Alliance of LaSalle.

Raffles will include a variety of items, such as tool sets, shop lights, and gift certificates from area businesses and gas stations. The benefit meal will be chicken and a variety of side dishes.

Leverich said Brandon, who is a freshman at Princeton High School, will have on-going medical expenses due to his injuries from the accident, which included having his spleen removed and damage to his pancreas.

Leverich said there is also about $20,000 not covered by insurance for the ambulance and Medflight transport of Brandon from Perry Memorial to the Peoria hospital.

Tickets for the Sept. 6 benefit are available from the Angel Care offices in Princeton and Spring Valley, Kelley’s Place in Tiskilwa, from Linda Lawson at The Light Post in Princeton, Tammy Odell at LCN, from family members Melissa Gonzalez and Linda Vela, and Leverich.

Tickets for the Sept. 6 benefit is $17 per adult, or $30 for two adults. Tickets for children ages 6 to 14 are $12 each. Ages six and younger are free.

The family will also set up a booth from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Princeton Wal-Mart Supercenter to sell tickets.

Family and friends are also planning a fishing derby benefit on Sept. 20 at Lock 11, outside of Tiskilwa, to help with medical expenses.

A Brandon Foster Benefit fund is set up at Citizens First National Bank in Princeton.
