Carol Learned from Washington, Ill., will entertain. The program guest is Freddie Brammer of Potosi, Mo., with a talk titled “If Life is a Journey, Where in the World am I?” The cost is $10. Book club PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club, sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library, will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 11 in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” by Lisa See. This book tells the story of two young Chinese girls from different villages who form a friendship that takes them through traditional 19th century experiences such as foot binding and arranged marriages. The staff at the library will be able to assist anyone in borrowing this book from one of the other libraries in the system. Anyone is invited to join the group in discussing this book. Market Day pickup PRINCETON — St. Louis School will have its Market Day pickup on Saturday. Flea market PRINCETON — The Homestead Festival flea market will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. Antiques, collectibles, and new and used items will be sold inside and outside the exhibit halls at the fairgrounds. Food will also be available. Adult admission is $1. For more information, call (815) 875-2606 after 5 p.m. Raikes reunion UTICA — Descendants of James Monroe and Phoebe (Bailey) Raikes will celebrate their 54th family reunion Sunday at Starved Rock State Park. A potluck picnic will begin at noon. Children’s games, bingo and raffles will be provided.
