PCA welcomes new staff
PRINCETON — Princeton Christian Academy recently welcomed new staff members at its orientation lunch at the Corner Spot. Mary Michael of Princeton has joined the PCA staff as art teacher this year. Michael holds a master’s degree in art education from Illinois State University as well as an Illinois teaching certificate. She comes to the Academy with more than 40 years of experience in teaching art having taught at Walnut, Tiskilwa, DePue, Cherry, Ladd and Malden schools over the years. She will be teaching art to all students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade at PCA. Kathey Cook of Walnut is back at PCA after one year’s absence. Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University and an Illinois teaching certificate. She comes to PCA with 10 years of experience. Besides teaching at PCA, she taught at various schools including Sonlight Academy in Port au Paix, Haiti. Cook will be teaching science, history, and language arts in grades 5-8. Bridget VanDenBussche is not new to the PCA staff, but she has a new position this year. Formerly the PCA librarian, since 2002, VanDenBussche will be teaching kindergarten this year at PCA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Augustana College as well as an Illinois teaching certificate, and comes to the Academy with eight years of experience. Princeton Christian Academy is pleased to welcome these talented women to the staff. PCA offers grades preschool through eighth, with a full curriculum enriched with Bible, Spanish, computer classes, speech, theater, vocal music, instrumental music and art for grades kindergarten through eighth. Extra curricular activities include basketball, volleyball, plays, speech contests, art and music festivals and creative writing contests.
