Grace Bickett

SUBLETTE — Grace M. Bickett, 71, of Sublette died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Born Oct. 22, 1936, in LaSalle County to Gregory and Leona (Billard) Schmidt, she married Joseph E. Bickett Dec. 1, 1956, in Arlington. He died Aug. 28, 2006.

She had been a lifelong farmer, farming with her husband in the Maytown area in Lee County.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown, president of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society and a CCD teacher. She also had been a 4-H leader for the Maytown Comet 4-H Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Indian “Cathy” Bickett of Sublette; one son, Dennis (Lori) Bickett of Sublette; three grandsons, Matt, Steve, and Nick Bickett; one granddaughter, Nicole Bickett; three great-granddaughters, Rebekah, Emma and Sidney; and one brother, Robert (Carol) Schmidt of Arlington.

Her parents also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown, the Rev. Carl Beekman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick  Cemetery in Maytown.

Visitation was held Friday night in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

A memorial has been established.
