PLEASANT HILL, Iowa — Dorothy M. Berglund, 92, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at The Shores of Pleasant Hill in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Born April 17, 1916, in Princeton to Walter and Maude Hoover in Princeton, she married John Berglund Feb. 19, 1939. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Princeton High School and worked at the Extension Service in Princeton.

She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton, where she was active on numerous committees. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1994 and was active in the Urban Heights Evangelical Covenant Church in Urbandale.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Don) Rouwenhorst of Pella, Iowa, and Mary (Pat) Knueven of Urbandale, Iowa; four grandchildren, John Rouwenhorst of Fairbanks, Alaska, Beth (Chuck) Van Devander of Urbandale, Iowa, Lisa (Richard) Carter of Sarasota, Fla., and Jason (Becky) Knueven of Kansas City, Mo.; two great-grandchildren; and five nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Iles Funeral Home - Westover Chapel, Des Moines, Iowa, with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 7 p.m. Additional services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton, with the Revs. John Weborg and James Curry officiating. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.

The Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of local arrangements.
