Manlius Historical Society

MANLIUS — The Manlius Historical Society met Sept. 16 at the Manlius Village Hall with 10 in attendance. Vice President Lois Swanson led the group in pledge of allegiance and then asked Kenneth Rodgers for minutes of last meeting and treasurer’s report. Hearing no additions or corrections, both stood as read.

Gloria Rasmussen presented check from the Wal-Mart Foundation to the Manlius Historical Society. A report of Patti Glafka, given by Betti Appenzeller on fundraisers and Glafka’s recommendation, was to have a drawdown. Robert Andersen gave report on real estate tax abatement and also about the society’s Web site, manliushistoricalsociety.org that would soon be running smoothly. Anne Christensen and Patti Hedrick talked about 1,500 library books and possible use of 200 books at school on a rotating basis. There was also discussion on possible fundraisers for the society, with no action taken, at this time. Anne Christensen gave information on the new sewer system for the village of Manlius and how it would affect the Society.

The group’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Manlius Village Hall.
