LASALLE — Polly Ann Rimmele, 84, of LaSalle died at 10:49 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at the LaSalle Healthcare Center.

Born April 5, 1924,  to Dr. Ralph and Laura Wenger Woods, she married Milburn “Barney Rimmele Sept. 27, 1947. He survives.

She was the first director of the Lighted Way Develop-ment Center in LaSalle and completed 44 years in that position before retiring.

She was  a graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School, Stephens College of Columbia, Mo., and the National College of Education in Evanston.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and its Altar Guild and Choir. She was a former member of the LaSalle Junior Women’s Club and Zonta Club of LaSalle.

Also surviving are one nephew, Dr. Gary  (Terry) Hoelle of Princeton; one great-niece, Lisa, and one great-nephew, Michael Hoelle.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, LaSalle, the Rev. John Crist officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in LaSalle.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle.
