PHS presents ‘The Miracle Worker'
PRINCETON — Princeton High School’s fall play “The Miracle Worker” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Sally Skinner Council Auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door; there is no reserved seating. The house will open at 7 p.m. Ticket prices are adults, $7, children under 12, $5. The Miracle Worker tells the story of blind, deaf, and mute Helen Keller, whose dark world is opened up by her teacher, Annie Sullivan. Sullivan, who was born blind, gained her sight after a series of operations, and now comes to help the Keller family with their daughter. Helen’s family has struggled to get through to the spoiled and almost animal-like child. The Miracle Worker follows the incredible transformation, as Sullivan teaches Helen, not only manners, but the gift of communication, opening up the world for her curious mind. The cast for the production includes: Helen (Lisa Foehring), Annie Sullivan (Andrea Taylor), Kate Keller (Alyssa Donner), Captain Keller (Brendan Coughlin), James Keller (Luke Zehr), Aunt Ev (Emalie Cotter), Anagnos (Nathan Castelli), Viney (Ariel Rose), Martha (Hannah Bachman), Percy (Matthew Van Den-Bussche). Other students in the play include: Martin Graham, Katherine Millard, Elizabeth Wendt, Allison Jensen, Meghan Duffy, Madilyn Wilson, Charissa Graham, Emmely Vernon, LeeAnna Browne, Rebecca Allen and Allison Puetz. The production’s director is Beth Gerig; student director, Jessica Rawlings and stage manager, Shreyas Patel. |
