Attempted abduction in Henry County

CAMBRIDGE — The Henry County Sheriff’s office received a report on an attempted abduction at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday on Route 78 at about 1500 North, south of Annawan.

The suspect vehicle is a small, black or dark colored auto with four large, yellow numbers on the windshield. The first two numbers are one and nine; the last two numbers are unknown. The suspect driver is a black male with light skin, thin build and face stubble. He was wearing a black shirt and baggy, blue pants.

The suspect verbally attempted to get the victim into the auto, and when the victim refused, the suspect chased the victim into a cornfield where the victim was able to escape. The suspect’s vehicle was last seen southbound from the area on Route 78.
