
Created: Tuesday, December 2, 2008 12:00 a.m. CDT Updated: Wednesday, May 20, 2009 5:47 a.m. CDT Manlius Historical SocietyMANLIUS — The Manlius Historical Society met Nov. 17 at the Manlius Village Hall with Vice President Lois Swanson opening the annual meeting by leading the group of 13 in the pledge of allegiance. The election of officers and trustees was held, with Lois Swanson being elected president by entire group. Nita Nicholas was nominated vice president and Kenneth Rodgers was nominated for secretary/treasurer. Trustees nominated were Beth Rudiger, Grant Andresen and Anne Christensen. Patti Glafka made motion to accept Bullington/Issacson bid for restoring rest of walls on main floor. Robert Andersen reported that Society’s Web site — manliushistoricalsociety.org — was now working and he also turned in money for five new lifetime members. The Society now has 47 lifetime charter members and 15 lifetime members. Grant Andresen reported on Jerry Hadley’s 1,500 books. Bureau Valley School was going to catalogue the books and take each category of books to the school at a later date. Patti Glafka said her son was still working on line drawings or blueprints, whatever they turn out to be, of the First State Bank building. Fundraisers were discussed and more information would be brought to the Dec. 15 meeting at 6:30 in the Manlius Village Hall. |
