CHERRY — Officers elected at the December meeting of the Cherry Booster Club were: Al Hahn, president; Mike Wallaert, vice-president; Dan Carrico, secretary and Terry Templeton, treasurer.

Plans are progressing rapidly for the construction of the Miner’s memorial to be ready for the 100th anniversary of the Cherry mine disaster next year. Donations are coming in from local unions and more are expected. Anyone wishing information can call Dan Carrico at the State Bank of Cherry.

In other business, the club presented Christmas baskets to the needy in time for Christmas dinner, Christmas decorations will be taken down Jan. 18, or before, weather permitting.

Club members thanked the Spring Valley Boat Club and the Cherry Grade School children who helped with the recent fund raiser.

Winners of the Century Club were Jan Pini and Lisa Clinton.

A dinner at Bruno’s of Cherry was served after the meeting.
