Bertetto will speak to Optimist Club Tuesday night

PRINCETON — Joe Bertetto, Bureau County Jail Task Force chairman, will speak to the Princeton Optimist Club today, Tuesday. The meeting will be held at Kramer’s Restaurant, in downtown Princeton, starting with the meal at 6 p.m.

Bertetto is the chairman of the Bureau County Task Force for determining what to do about the county jail. Bertetto, of Sheffield, recently was elected to the Bureau County Board however prior to this he volunteered to head up a Task Force to do research on the feasibility of either enlarging the current county jail or building a new one.

Bertetto was a deputy sheriff in San Bernardino County in California for 15 years. While working in law enforcement, he had many opportunities to observe construction of various holding facilities.

Interested citizens of Bureau County are invited to attend the dinner meeting. The meal will be served buffet style and the cost is $8.50. Reservations for the meal can be called to Dick Volker at (815) 875-1330.
