A trip down Memory Lane

Noe (Bud) DeRycke of Sheffield submitted this photo of all eight classes attending the State Road School west of Buda. The photo was taken in 1931 or 1932. The one-room school was located next to Hopeland Cemetery, which can be seen in the background. Classmates pictured are (front row, from left) Elwyne Carper, Noe (Bud) Carper, Norma Hulteen, Christine Bickett, Estelle Bickett, the two Thompson girls, Evelyn DeRycke, Eileen Rasmussen and Hazel Carper; and (back row) George Wood, Clarence Carper, Warren Thompson, George Chase, James Bickett, Evelyn Bickett and Marian Chase.
