Virgil Bartman

PRINCETON — Virgil Bartman, 71, of Princeton died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Born March 24, 1937, in Nebraska to Edward and Josephine Bartman, he married Connie Clouse Feb. 17, 1980, in Princeton. She survives.

He graduated from Princeton High School. He was a printer until his retirement.

He was an active member of Strunks Pond and was in a bowling league at Crown Lanes in Princeton.

Also surviving are seven children, Cindy (John) Zolpher of Galesburg, Victoria (Tom) Schertz of Tiskilwa, Joseph (Mary) Bartman of Lake Carlisle, Chris (Bill) Vowels of St. Joseph, Douglas (Veronica) Bartman of Algonquin, Beth (Bill Bean) Bartman of Cedar Point and Michael (Elise) Bartman of East Peoria; three stepchildren, Allan (Kathy) Peterson of Cherry, and Aaron Peterson and Clint (Kristen) Peterson, both of Colorado; one brother, Edward Bartman of Princeton; one sister, Joanne Ribordy of Odell; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosemary Haun.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jeffery Stirniman officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
