PRINCETON — The Princeton Jaycees received recognition from the Northwest Region and the Illinois Jaycees during recent year-end meetings.

The Illinois Jaycee 2008 Year-End Banquet was held Jan. 16-18 in Decatur. At that banquet, the Princeton Jaycees, along with some of its members, received recognition for hard work and dedication during the third trimester of 2008.

Mitchell and Peter Campbell, the sons of associate members Gary and Linnea Campbell, received the The Outstanding Child Award. Mitch and Peter received this award for their help during the PHS football cookouts held during the home football games in August to October 2008. Each received a Certificate of Excellence signed by Illinois Jaycee President Tanya Lee and Illinois Jaycee Vice President Marybeth Oliver.

Scott Bloom received The Outstanding Jaycee award for his dedication and help during the PHS football cookouts. To clarify the significance of this award, Bloom was also named the top Jaycee in the state.

The chapter received a Certificate of Excellence for the same project, the PHS Tiger football cookouts.

Linnea Campbell was recognized as The Outstanding State Chairman. She currently serves as the Illinois Jaycee State Editor. She is responsible for a monthly publication, The Lincoln Ledger, and a quarterly publication, The PRIDE.

At the Northwest Region level, Princeton received the following:

• The Outstanding Management Development Project — third trimester for PHS Tiger football cookouts. The Tiger football cookouts project was also recognized as The Outstanding Management Project of the Year by the Northwest Region.
