BUDA — Bureau Valley South eighth-graders visited the Princeton Public Library to view the “Between Fences” traveling Smithsonian exhibit.

The students did several lessons on the “Museum on Main” Smithsonian Website before attending the exhibit. The lessons included a study of Robert Frost and his poem titled the “Mending Wall.” Students analyzed the saying from the poem “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors,” and they also explored the great fence crisis on the Great Plains with the introduction of barbed wire.

Between Fences explores how neighbors and nations divide, protect, offend and defend themselves in a nationally recognized museum-grade exhibit. The exhibit will be at the Princeton Public Library through April 18. Many programs and films are being presented free to the public in conjunction with the Smithsonian Exhibit. All programs and films are on various dates starting at 7 p.m.
