Ladd Village Board 3-24

LADD — The Ladd Village Board conducted the following business at its meeting March 24:

• Directed Village Engineer Larry Good to submit facility plans for the Cleveland Street storm sewer project and the wastewater treatment plant outfall project for stimulus package funding.

• Reviewed and accepted the engineer’s preliminary estimated construction costs of $40,185.55 for the repair of East Cleveland Street from the railroad tracks east to the Spring Creek Bridge.

• Hired Massie Jet-Vac for sewer cleaning services for five days.

• Approved a $50 donation to the Ladd School Graduation Committee and granted permission to the DePue Men’s Club to solicit Ladd businesses for advertising in their boat races program.

• Adopted an ordinance adding a penalty for failure to purchase a dog tag.

• Approved employee Ron Piacenti’s request to be compensated for his unused sick days as of his May 29 retirement date.

• Accepted a proposal of $10,958 from Wayne Manufacturing for the purchase of new Christmas decorations.

• Heard a request to extend the village water main an additional one-half mile to a property outside the village limits. The board agreed that the petitioner would be responsible for 100 percent of the project’s cost.

• Donated $400 to the Bureau/Putnam Crime Stopper program for the replacement of signs at all entrances to the village.

• Entered closed session to discuss electric rates.

The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on April 14, in the village hall council chamber.
