Ladd Village Board 4-14
LADD — The Ladd Village Board conducted the following business at its meeting April 14:
• Approved a $45,000 Motor Fuel Tax resolution for the 2009 Street Program.
• Granted permission to the Illinois Valley Lightning traveling baseball team for the use of the large Kennedy Park ball diamond. They will be required to submit proof of insurance.
• Reviewed the revised water and sewer rates should the village receive the economic stimulus package funding for its sewer projects.
• Discussed a bulk water sale rate.
• Received the police department’s activity report for March.
• Approved the purchase of a computer and printer for the maintenance department not to exceed $900.
• Entered a contract with Bureau County Animal Control prohibiting stray dogs from running at large in the village.
• Accepted a quote of $4,938.93 from Electric Pump for new check valves at the waste water treatment plant.
• Approved the donation of $150 to the Cherry Booster Club for the purchase of a Cherry Mine Memorial paver.
• Approved the purchase of nine aristocrat pear trees at $264 each for planting on Main Street.
• Approved a request from the Ladd American Legion that the village install steps and a handrail in the sidewalk not to exceed $2,500.
• Discussed requests from Lanuti’s Restaurant to make their south entrance handicapped accessible and from Rip’s Tavern for the removal of deteriorated curbing and the widening of an existing handicapped ramp.
• Entered closed session to discuss contract negotiations for village utility customers.
The next meeting of the village board will be at 6:30 p.m. on April 28 in the village hall.
