Fundraiser planned

LADD — The Ladd After School Program will host an Italian feast fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Softails. Tickets in advance are $10 and includes dinner and entry into a $500 Pick 3. Music will be furnished from 2 to 4 p.m. by Eric Magnuson. Purchase advance tickets from a LASP parent or contact Julie Hollinger at (815) 830-3465. Dinner tickets may be purchased at the door at $8 for adults and $3 for a child. At-the-door tickets do not include the Pick 3 entry. Carryouts will be available.

Cookout

WYANET — There will be a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. All proceeds will go to Orchard View Rehab and Health Care. The menu will include rib eyes, hot dogs, brats, butterflys, pork burgers, barbecue pork, chips, pop and water.

Bloodmobile set

MANLIUS — The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will have a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bureau Valley High School auditorium. Donors who last gave blood on or before March 2 are eligible. Donors must be 16 years old, in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other photo I.D. is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form. To make an appointment, call Connie Hahne at (815) 445-4004.

Entries wanted

SHEFFIELD — Entries are being accepted for the Sheffield Homecoming talent show scheduled for 7 p.m. June 11 in West Park in Sheffield. The winners in both age divisions, the junior (14 years and under) and senior (15 years to 21), will represent Bureau County at the annual Illinois State Convention in Springfield in January. Anyone interested in participating in the talent show should call (815) 454-2592 or (815) 454-2059 for more information. Entries will not be accepted the day of the show.

PYBL fundraiser

PRINCETON — The Princeton Youth Baseball and Softball League will hold a cookout fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Carquest in Princeton.

DAR meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m. May 1 at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Students from Princeton Christian Academy will present the program “Celebrating Abraham Lincoln.” Hostesses are chairman Sharon Wilson, Janice Edgerley, M. Sue May and Dorothy Philbrook.

Plant sale

MANLIUS — Bureau Valley High School will have a plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon May 2, 9 and 16 in the school’s greenhouse.
