PRINCETON — Girlfriends ... and their boyfriends are invited to a “Girlfriend Night Out with Kathy O’Malley”, set for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Fitzgerald’s Piano Lounge. Colleen Sailer, CEO for In-Home Care VNA in Princeton, said Saturday’s event is a fundraiser for the In-Home Care VNA, which covers the counties of Bureau, Putnam, Stark, Marshall and LaSalle, as well as the Chillicothe area. The local agency has been in Princeton for 32 years and is a member of the national Visiting Nurses Association. The agency is Medicare-certified. The staff includes registered nurses, certified nursing assistants and therapists in the areas of physical, occupational and speech. As CEO since 2007, Sailer said she finds her job rewarding and fulfilling. It’s good to be able to help patients of all ages as they recover from illness or injury in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. The staff are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, she said. By hosting Saturday’s “Girlfriend Night Out with Kathy O’Malley”, Sailer said she hopes to raise awareness of the services and outreach of In-Home Care VNA, as well as raise funds for general operation needs. WGN radio talk show host Kathy O’Malley, who owns a rural Princeton home, actually came up with the idea for the “Girlfriend Night Out,” Sailer said. Before O’Malley takes to the stage, the event will start with a spring hat show, with hats provided by Julia Cain of Flowers By Julia. Saturday’s event will also include wine tasting and appetizers, drawings and door prizes. The merchants of Princeton have been very generous in their donations of door prizes, Sailer said. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at Citizens First National Bank, Central Bank, the In-Home Care VNA office, or at the door on Saturday evening.
