Bishop Hill run
BISHOP HILL — The 15th annual Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo will be Saturday, April 25. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and race-time is 9 a.m. The Skamperoo is scheduled for 10 a.m. Registration fees paid prior to the day of the race are $14 and $16 race day. Friends of Hennepin
GENESEO — The Friends of Hennepin and the Henry County Mounted Search and Rescue will sponsor an afternoon of fun for the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Izaak Walton Memorial Lodge in the Izaak Walton Park, one mile north of Geneseo on Route 82, just south of the Hennepin Canal. There will be a potato and salad bar, horse rides and Carl Smith’s wooden cowboy hats. Free-will donations are welcome. Jazz dance
PERU — The LaSalle-Peru High School Jazz Dance, featuring the L-P Jazz Ensemble, will be  held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the west Gym. The guest artists are the IVCC Jazz Ensemble and guest director is Larry Butkus. Swing dance lessons will be given by Alex Guerrero at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $3 for students and senior citizens, $5 per person and $10 per family. The public is invited. The event is sponsored by the L-P Band Parents Association and IV Cellular.

Bluebell festival
EARVILLE — The 26th annual Bluebell Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26 and May 2-3, at Maple Leaf Park on Route 34 in Earlville. There will be a $4 donation per person with the funds going to forest restoration. For more information, call (815) 246-6200.

Relay for Life
HENNEPIN — The Hennepin Relay for Life teams will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Country Stop Restaurant on Route 26. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children, 6 to 12. All proceeds will go toward the teams’ totals for the 2009 Relay For Life of Marshall and Putnam counties, which will be held from 4 p.m. June 12 to 8 a.m. June 13 in Henry Central Park.

Fundraiser
LADD — The Ladd After School Program will host an Italian feast fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Softails. Tickets in advance are $10 and includes dinner and entry into a $500 Pick 3. Music will be furnished from 2 to 4 p.m. by Eric Magnuson. Purchase advance tickets from a LASP parent or contact Julie Hollinger at (815) 830-3465. Dinner tickets may be purchased at the door at $8 for adults and $3 for a child. The at the door tickets do not include the Pick 3 entry. Carry-outs available.

Animal fair
PERU — The FFA group at LaSalle-Peru High School will host its annual animal Fair at the Area Career Center. The Animal Fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, and from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29. The fair features a wide variety of large and small animals. Pork chop dinner
LAMOILLE — First Baptist church of LaMoille will hold its annual pork chop dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 30. Dinner includes butterfly pork chop sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, chips and dessert. Drinks provided for dine-in only. Carry-outs are available. Tickets are $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children, 10 and under. Extra pork chop sandwich is $2.50.

IVSO season finale
OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra presents classical guitarist Miles McConnell performing Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo as its season finale at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 1. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Visit www.ivso.org for more information.

Jewelry fair
PRINCETON — Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a $5 jewelry fair in the hospital’s north lobby from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 1. Proceeds will benefit needed equipment for the hospital.

Book fair

Convoy Against Cancer
PRINCETON — All trucks are welcome to a big truck show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the AmericInn Hotel. The entry fee will be a donation to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Bureau County. There will be door prizes, food, music and dash plaques for all entrants. Mother/daughter banquet
SEATONVILLE — Seatonville Congregational Church Independent members welcome everyone to attend a banquet to honor mothers and daughters at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2. The potluck meal will be in the church basement, with the church providing the meat, bread and beverages. Guests are requested to bring a dish to pass according to the size of their party. There will be door prizes for the ladies. A musical performance by J. Brian Hill, a comtemporary Christian singer from Batavia, will follow the dinner. Anyone who wants to attend the concert only need not register. The concert will be held in the church sanctuary at about 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for the banquet other than the potluck dishes.
