Entries wanted

LADD — The Ladd Community Improvement Association is looking for entries for the Ladd Summer Fest talent show, set for 6:30 p.m. July 8 at the Ladd Memorial Park. There is no entry fee. Quilters meeting

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. May 7 at the First Baptist Church, 1719 S. Euclid Ave., Princeton. Guests are welcome to attend for a fee of $5. The feature program, “Challenge Night,” will be presented by Covered Bridge Quilters Guild members. A machine appliqué workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 9 at the Farm Bureau Building. Participants will be able to learn the secrets to a perfect machine appliquéd quilt by Debbi Henninger. The workshop fee is $20. Meeting set

PRINCETON — Professional Home Economists of Bureau County will meet for its annual meeting on Thursday. Members should meet at 4:45 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton to car pool to Lacon for dinner at Kenyon’s Place. Reservations need to be made by Monday with Jean Scott by calling (815) 875-8561. Any home economists in the area are welcome to attend.

Plant sale

MANLIUS — Bureau Valley High School in Manlius will host a plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon May 2, 9 and 16 at the high school greenhouse. For information, contact Willard Mott at (815) 445-4004.
